I am so excited I don’t even know the best way to say this except to say I get it now. I get who I am as an artist and I get what I can do, and I am no longer confused about how to express it.
For years now I have been running around trying to figure out how I could impress people in the business so that I could get permission to do what it is that I love to do for a living. I tried sticking myself in all sorts of boxes they could understand, gave myself all sorts of labels, most of which were suffocating and too small for me, in hopes that they would get who I am and see the value in it, but finally, finally, I can see that I don’t need to waste my time impressing anyone. I just need to choose what I want to do and then simply just do it. Choose my projects and create them. That’s all there is to do.
With that spirit in mind I present to you Turtle in a Party Dress, a company that has all the room in the world for me and my visions because it is me. Through the Turtle I will methodically develop and produce all the projects I have longed to produce, starting with the short form content and then moving on to the big stuff.
I hope all of you will follow me on the journey by liking the Turtle on Facebook and Twitter and checking out the new website. I will still continue my personal blog right here where it has always been, but I will be sharing loads of fun comedy on the Turtle site so I hope you will subscribe there too.
First project to be green lighted will be the one I pitched last week! Onward and upward!
